"Gossip.Lies.Secrets"

Lisa, Kenya & Blue

So this weekend me & my hubby went to see the musical stage play

"Gossip.Lies.Secrets"

here is the story line...

Behind all the glitz and glamour lies the truth
…Sydney St. Croix is a gifted and well-respected writer with a flair for the finer things in life. From Goose Paté to Cartier, only the best will do. She is beautiful, charming and oozes confidence. In fact, you would never guess she was really born Selma Louise Johnson or that currently her bank account boasts a whopping $12 and 53 cents. After a string of bad investments, distracting relationships, and dead end writing jobs, Sydney finds herself at the end of her financial rope. Fortunately, she finds solace in her life long relationship with her best girlfriend, R & B super diva, Essence. When these ladies get together for their ritual, sister girl sessions, there are no holds barred. After an evening of sharing sexy secrets, regrettable rendezvous, intimate and sometimes incriminating confessions, the ladies renew their weekly pact to never tell another soul. And Sydney leaves feeling much better, knowing that there is at least one person whose life is worse than hers.Fortunately, Sydney gets a big
break when she is approached by a major publisher who commissions her to write a novel. They are looking for something new and hot with broad appeal. She submits three preliminary manuscripts, which are all flatly rejected, and the publisher informs her that they have decided to look elsewhere for a writer. Then in a moment of sheer desperation, Sydney makes a plot-twisting decision to save her career by breaking their sacred pact and decides to divulge her best friend’s innermost secrets … all of them.

Angela Dunlap produced and wrote the play
Olivia Duke was played by Robin Givens* but was sold to the many ticket buyers as being Lisa Raye McCoy-Misick but she was no where in sight
Katrina Love...Kenya Moore*
Essence Alexander...Tondy Gallant
Sydney St. Croix...Lia Grant
Zion Alexander...Tony Grant
Jackson Williams...Christopher Williams*
Kevin Simone...Clifton Powell*
Special Guest...Malik Yoba*
Lillie Frances...Patrice Lovely
Special Guest...Blue Cantrell* ( I do not recall seeing her there either)
Extra...Syndi Jones
Extra...Charles Harrison

*4 out of 6 celebrity actors ain't bad?!?!

Me & my hubby were most upset at the fact that they threw Robin Givens in the play and did not even let the audience know that this was occurring. My hubby purchased a $5 program and nowhere in the program is Robin Givens mentioned (there is a snippet in the program that states **Celebrity Appearances May Vary Per Market**), but there are pics of Lisa Raye all up and through (so what? my market was not prime enough for Lisa & Blue? WTF!!!). We were sitting in the audience like, where is Lisa Raye. Blue Cantrell did not even make an appearance(probably for the best).

Kenya Moore played Christopher Williams' mistress and basically anyone could have played her part. The movie centered around the housekeeper/nanny who danced the "walk it out" during the day and sang "Yes Jesus Loves Me" at night. The play was on a roller coaster for me because there was profanity but the overall message was suppose to be spiritual, which I think personally do not mix at any level. I can say it was funny but it could use a little editing to get the story on track.

As for the acting the men in the stage play exposed their upper torsos while the women danced raunchily and wore too tight clothing. The stage play dabbles in lesbianism, drug use and makes reference to the same ole same ole that you can get talking to your grandmother.

As for the mucial part (whatever) nothing significant there!

Overall Ms. Dunlap had her stage hooked, and that was the only thing professional about the play. I give the stage play a C+, I guess if you can get some celebrities to recite your script to an audience it not only sells tickets but it makes your overall writing ability look _______________________!!! That's all for now!

I saw this play last night in Augusta, Ga. The play was o.k., but again there was no Lisa Ray. I was disappointed and I feel that if she would have played the part that they were saying she were the play would have been more than o.k. No one even had the balls to tell the audience that she was not going to be there. The girl that played her looked like her but she could not fool me. My suspicions were confirmed when I brougt the program. I won my tickets on a radio show but if I had bougt them I know that I would have probaly walked out like the audience in Carolina did the night before.
