Winfrey said Monday she wept after hearing allegations that a dorm matron at
her academy for disadvantaged girls had abused students. She accused school
officials of telling the girls to "put on happy faces" when she visited.

"When I first heard about it I spent about a half-hour going around my house crying," Winfrey said at a news conference by satellite hook-up. She said learning about the allegations was "one of most devastating experiences of my life."

STAR DOES NOT GIVE THE STAR TREATMENT, So she should expect this...Her own full-figured days are long behind her, but now Star Jones Reynolds stands accused of turning her back on an organization dedicated to helping plus-size women and teens. Sharon Dumas-Pugh, the founder of Full & Fabulous, told TMZ her group hired Star to speak at an event last year, but despite accepting perks and partial payments, the lawyer and sometimes-TV host never showed up to the function. After holding a number of fundraisers to pay Star's appearance fee and expenses, relations between Full & Fabulous and Star went south. Sharon claims they gave Star a $10,000 deposit and another $6,000. In addition to that, they provided the celeb and her husband, Al Reynolds, with first-class plane tickets to the event in Detroit. According to Sharon, Star says she never got that $6,000, and apparently those airline tickets weren't good enough, either. Now Full & Fabulous is left throwing fundraisers for legal fees, trying to enforce a $20,000 default judgment they have against Star.

Allen, Mizell's business partner, told the Daily News he had cooperated completely with investigators and was furious that others had not. "This is a case that can be solved," he said. Allen said she told him that after two gunmen ordered her to get down on the floor, she saw a man with a tattoo on his neck approach Mizell and fire. A first round injured another person; the second was blasted into Mizell's head from point-blank range.
