Barack Obama in Tampa, FL Today for Rally at Legends Field

There were about 8,000 people in attendance that waved signs and cheered, ''Yes, We Can'' as they filled Legends Field. The Rays introduced Obama at the Rally...''This election is a critical moment in our history,'' Outfielder Fernando Perez told the crowd. ``We're here today to encourage you to get out and vote and vote early for Barack Obama. We can change the nation.''

'It's getting harder and harder to make the mortgage, or fill up your gas tank, or even keep the electricity on at the end of the month. At this rate, the question isn't `Are you better off than you were four years ago?' it's 'Are you better off than you were four weeks ago?' '' he said.

''It's getting so bad that even Sen. McCain's running mate denounced his tactics last night,'' he said to laughs from the crowd. ``As you know, you really have to work hard to violate Gov. Palin's standards on negative campaigning.''

Senator Bill Nelson

''So goes the I-4 corridor, so goes Florida, so goes the nation,'' Sen. Bill Nelson said in Tampa, referring to the east-west interstate in Central Florida that serves as a political barometer of the nation's largest battleground state. ``You see the responsibility resting on your shoulders.''
