Only a woman possessing superhero-like qualities can juggle marriage, motherhood, career demands, regular exercise, and the grueling schedule of a presidential campaign trail. But for Michelle Obama, that's just all in a day's work. "You have to be efficient," Michelle tells JET, adding that it also helps that she has assistance from her mother. Yet she knows firsthand that balancing career and family is a struggle for many women. "I wonder what happens to single-parent mothers, the nurses, social workers, folks who can't get the nanny, who don't get paid leave, who have to take out their personal sick time when their child is sick," says Michelle.

This is one of the many issues she tackles while crusading for her husband, Sen. Barack Obama, and his quest for the White House. "Michelle has been my most important supporter from the beginning and I simply couldn't do this without her," Barack tells JET. "As more and more Americans are coming to realize, she's the real rock star of this campaign. And she will be one of the finest first ladies we've ever had." (JETMAG)
